  • About the artwork
    Zhang painted this series to show the situation of the migrant workers coming from the countryside to work in the city. Most of the migrant workers live in container like dwellings with very few space and are dreaming of a better life. Sometimes trying to escape while thinking they are astronauts flying to the moon.
  • About the artist
    Born in 1988 in Guangzhou, Zhang Zhaoying graduated from Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts in 2013 and attended as a visiting scholar at the Brussels Art Institute during 2013-2014.
