Ju Duoqi is an innovative and multidisciplinary artist who explores the boundaries between traditional art and contemporary conceptual expression. A graduate of Sichuan Fine Arts College, she has carved out a unique niche in the art world by bringing iconic masterpieces back to life – not with paint or clay, but with fresh vegetables.
In her studio, which extends to her own kitchen, Ju transforms everyday ingredients such as tofu, cabbage, ginger, lotus root, coriander and sweet potato into stunning works of art. Her work is a playful yet profound interpretation of classic paintings, incorporating both humor and social commentary. With her creations, she explores themes such as consumerism, sustainability and the transience of art.
By literally taking ‘green art’ to a new level, Ju has developed a recognizable and idiosyncratic style that evokes both admiration and wonder. Her work is exhibited and praised worldwide for its inventive combination of craftsmanship, aesthetics and conceptual depth.
Ju Duoqi proves that art can be created anywhere, even in the kitchen – and that even the most mundane materials have the power to retell iconic stories.
