  • About the artwork
    [EN]
These fishing boats in Tréboul, in France, were painted by Hendrik Jan Wolter. He painted the scene on painting board, probably within the harbour. With fluent brushstrokes, he managed to convey the rippling water between the boats, and the reflections on the water surface. Wolter probably painted this harbour study around 1929, when he was in Tréboul. Wolter signed the work on the lower right: ‘H.J. Wolter’.

Wolter’.
